A New Spokesperson for Tilt and Tilt Light Lager—As Required by Legal Arbitration.

Following a trademark dispute initiated by former pinball champion Tilt Lightning, Phillips Brewing & Malting Co. has entered into a formal settlement agreement that includes the appointment of Mr. Lightning as the official spokesperson for Tilt and Tilt Light lagers.

Mr. Lightning—known in competitive pinball circles for securing the 1993–94 championship—legally changed his name and registered the trademarks “Tilt” and “Tilt Lightning” in the mid-1990s. Upon the release of Tilt Lager, he raised a claim regarding potential copyright infringement.

In resolution of this matter, and in lieu of further legal proceedings, Mr. Lightning will appear in a series of promotional materials on behalf of Phillips Brewing and Malting Co. This inclusion is a term of the settlement agreement and should not be interpreted as an editorial endorsement.
